“ONTARIO TURKEY GOURMET WEEKEND GETAWAY” 2008 SWEEPSTAKES THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO ONTARIO RESIDENTS ONLY AND IS GOVERNED BY CANADIAN LAW.
HOW TO ENTER:
No purchase necessary. The contest begins on May 5, 2008 at 12:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time and ends on July 27, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (the “Contest Period”). Enter the sweepstakes portion of the contest by either going online or through mail-in entry. On-line entries are also eligible for instant win prizes. Mail-in entries are limited to one entry per address, per day and only apply to Grand or Secondary Prizing. They must include your name, address/email address, phone number, name of your favourite grocery store in Ontario and must be postmarked no later than the contest closing date. Only one (1) mail-in entry per envelope with sufficient postage and one mail-in entry per person/household per day.
To enter the contest online, go to www.turkeyrecipes.ca, click on Gourmet Getaway contest link, you will be directed to an online entry form click on the “enter” button and an entry form will appear. Click on “Click here for your instant win code.” to obtain your instant win code. Fully complete the entry form including your instant win code and submit your entry form online.
Mail-in entries will not be eligible for Instant Win Prizes. Online entries will automatically be entered into the Grand Prize and Secondary Prize Sweepstakes. Your entry must be received online or by mail within the Contest Period. If you enter online, you will automatically be informed whether you are an eligible Instant Win prize winner. Limit one on-line entry per instant win code and one on-line entry per person/household per day. Entries will be rejected if entry form is not fully completed and submitted during the Contest Period. If it is discovered that you attempted to enter more than once per day by any method, all your entries will be void.
ELIGIBILITY:
This contest is open to all residents of Ontario who have reached the age of majority at the time of entry except employees (and those with whom such employees are domiciled) or agents of Turkey Farmers of Ontario (the “Sponsor”), its advertising and promotion agencies and the contest judges.
THE INSTANT WIN PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE:
During the Contest Period, 120 Instant Win prizes will be available to be won online, based on randomly pre-selected times during the Contest Period. The online entrant who submits an entry at or first after the winning time will be eligible for an Instant Win Prize. The number of Instant Win prizes available to be won will diminish as prizes are claimed during the Contest Period. Any Instant Win prizes not claimed by the end of the Contest Period will be awarded in a second chance sweepstakes drawing. A maximum of one Instant Win prize per PIN code and per person will be awarded. The Instant Win prizes will consist of 30 x $50 Grocery Gift Cards; 30 sets of Ontario Turkey Oven Mitts and Apron ($35 value/set); 10 Big Mouth™ 14 cup Food Processor (model #70590CR, $99.99 value/unit); 10 Set ‘N Forget™ Programmable Slow Cooker (model #33967C $79.99 value/unit); 10 Indoor Grill with Floating Lid (model #25451 $69.99 value/unit)and 30 Hamilton Beach Blenders (model #59205, $99.99 value/unit). Instant win prizes cannot be selected nor exchanged. The odds of winning depend on the number and timing of on-line entries.
GRAND PRIZE:
The Grand Prize consist of: (a) a selection of Hamilton Beach small appliances including coffeemaker, blender, toaster, standmixer, drinkmixer, kettle, food pro, food chopper, skillet/griddle, juice extractor, slow cooker, grill, deep fryer, raclette, ice cream maker, ice shaver, 12 x $50 Grocery Gift Cards and 2 sets of Ontario Turkey Oven Mitts and Apron. Approximate prize value $2,269.84. (b) a gourmet weekend getaway for 2 to Stratford Ontario, including round trip economy rail transportation from the major train station nearest winner’s home to Stratford, 2 nights accommodation at the Ritz of Stratford (double occupancy), two tickets to a Stratford Festival play, Dinner for two at Bijou Restaurant, excluding all beverages. $650 spending money and a dinner prepared by Chef Paul Finkelstein at his home. Approximate weekend prize value is $2,570 based on Ottawa departure example. In the event that winner lives within 100km of Stratford ground transportation will be provided in lieu of rail fare. Winner is responsible for all other expenses related to the gourmet weekend getaway. Prize must be taken by November 9,2008 on a weekend mutually agreed upon, depending upon availability of Chef Paul, hotel accommodations and Stratford Festival tickets.
SECONDARY PRIZES
There are 2 secondary prizes, each consisting of the following Hamilton Beach appliances: standmixer, blender, juice extractor and 6 x $50 Grocery Gift Cards and 2 sets of Ontario Turkey Oven Mitts and Apron. Approximate retail value $899.99 each.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or convertible to cash. Prizes will be delivered to winner’s Ontario residence. No substitutions except at Sponsor’s option. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component with one of equal or greater value.
SWEEPSTAKES DRAWS AND WINNERS SELECTION:
On August 18, 2008 in Kitchener-Waterloo at 1:00 pm (Eastern Time) eligible entrants will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received to award the Grand Prize, the two Secondary Prizes and any unclaimed Instant Win Prizes. Each selected entrant will be eligible to win a prize. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Selected entrants will be contacted by phone or email. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted within fourteen (14) days of selection or there is a return of any prior notification as undeliverable, that entrant will be disqualified and an alternate entrant will be selected from among the remaining eligible entries.
HOW TO CLAIM A PRIZE:
Entrants who qualify to win a prize will be asked to verify their mailing address for shipment of the prize. Selected entrants of the Secondary Prize packages, Instant Win or the Sweepstakes Grand Prize will be required to correctly answer unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question administered by e-mail/mail.
Instant win codes may be subject to verification and are automatically void if not obtained through legitimate channels, or if altered, forged, defaced, mutilated, tampered with or irregular in any way. Liability for any irregular instant win code is limited to replacement of the instant win code.
In order to be awarded any prize, selected entrants and Grand Prize travel companion (or their parent/legal guardian if a minor) must complete and sign a Declaration and Release form confirming compliance with these Contest Rules, acceptance of the prize as awarded (without substitution). By doing so the entrant/travel companion releases the Sponsor, its officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns, affiliated companies, service providers, advertising and promotional agencies and the independent judging organization from any liability in connection with any prize or this Contest. The signed Declaration and Release form must be returned within the time period specified on the form or the prize will be forfeited. Instant win, Secondary and Grand Prize prizes will be shipped directly to the mailing address provided. Allow 8-10 weeks for delivery.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
By entering the contest, each selected entrant agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of his/her name, address, voice, statements about the contest and/or photograph or other likeness without further compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the Internet. The Sponsor, its advertising and promotion agencies and the contest judges are not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, delayed or illegible requests or prize claims.
Without limitation, the Sponsor, its advertising and promotion agencies and the contest judges will not be liable for any failure of the web site during the contest; for any technical malfunction or other problems relating to the telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software; for the failure of any entry to be received by the Sponsor, its advertising and promotion agencies or the contest judges for any reason including, but not limited to, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site; or any combination of the above. Further, the Sponsor, its advertising and promotion agencies and the contest judges will not be liable for any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading any material in the contest.
The Sponsor reserves the right, to withdraw or amend this contest in any way, in the event of an error, technical problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of this contest as contemplated by these Rules. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited by law. The decisions of the contest judges with respect to all aspects of this contest are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal. If due to printing, online, internet, computer or other error, more Instant Win prizes are claimed than intended to be awarded according to these Contest Rules, or in the event that due to such error, a valid prize claim is revealed, making the number of valid prize claims greater than the number of Instant Win prizes available under these Contest Rules, this Contest will be terminated and a random draw will be held on August 15, 2008 in Kitchener-Waterloo at approximately 1:00 pm from amongst all eligible Instant Win prize claimants to award the remaining number of advertised Instant Win prizes. In no event will the Sponsor be liable for more than the stated number of Instant Win prizes in these Contest Rules.
If a dispute arises relating to an Instant Win, Secondary or Grand Prize won, the internal independent judging organization’s back-up documentation of the entry will determine the final decision of the prize to be awarded.
In the event of a dispute, online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the person who is assigned an email address by an internet provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institute, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. If the identity of an online entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder associated with the email account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. A selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry name change.
The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of a valid online entry in this contest will be the contest server machine(s).
The Sponsor, reserves the right to cancel or suspend this contest in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind without prior notice or obligation. By entering this contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her entry only for the purpose of administering the contest and in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy unless the entrant otherwise agrees.
